This was all shot with my V1U while camping. No lens adapter, just the stock lens. Filmed entirely in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York at about 5am. The nights make the air cooler than the water, when the morning comes, a nice mist forms. It's a magic time that only lasts for about 30 minutes.
I didn't actually SEE any Sirens...but I swear I could hear them...just like in the music! (the music is something I bought from Music2Hues). Relax and enjoy.
I absolutely love the look of video shot on sliders and dollies. The perspective motion (objects further away seeming to move slower than objects that are closer) creates such an awesome dramatic look. This video is intended to demonstrate and highlight that effect.
One of the purposes of this video was to create a video made 100% with shots on my DIY slider. It was really the first time I was able to get out and spend a lot of time with the slider, so I was testing out various angles and setups.
I sometimes feel that post-production slow-motion is used way too much. Therefore, another goal of this test-run was to ensure that all footage remained as-is (other than minor contrast adjustments). Every segment in this video is the "live" slide (i.e. no slow motion was applied to anything).
A short video put together for the UWOL (Under water, over land) challenge. The topic for the video was Wildlife. My specific topic ended up being a raccoon I discovered while looking for bald eagles along the Fox River in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
