VE Day Remembered

Digital Drama produced VE Day Remembered - an audio installation and indoor street party at the Rose Theatre, Kingston during May 2015. We recorded the memories of local residents of their VE Day experience, built the back streets of Kingston, complete with Anderson Shelter. On May 8th, to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day, an audience of veterans and contributors enjoyed the street party featuring Buckingham Primary School Choir, the dance group Everything's Jumpin'. The Mayor of Kingston, Ken Smith and new MP James Berry, both fresh from election night led the two minutes silence and spoke of the sacrifice a whole generation made for our freedom today.
