1. Darryl Jeter shot to death Indiana State Trooper Scott Patrick on Dec. 22, 2003. The gun was a .380 FEG semiautomatic that Jeter accepted instead of money to settle a basketball debt. Jeter said he had planned on selling the gun to buy 'Dora the Explorer' dolls for his daughter. But fate intervened.
