  3. The Monroes were on top of the world for a brief period of time in 1982. With an EP and a hit single and tours with some of the era's biggest bands, the Monroes seemed destined for more. However, trouble with the record label changed all of that. Still, their self-titled debut record represents the best of early 80s pop. And their single, "What Do All the People Know" is perhaps one of the most catchy tunes of the 80s. In this video podcast, Bruce Janu discusses the album and plays their hit song. This album was very typical of early 70s pop music which attempted to infuse a bit a spirituality into the lyrics.
