"Floating World” - video by Victoria Taylor-Gore and music by Felipe Adorno Vassao.
This is a miniature landscape set that I made from floral foam, and it is shot in front of a pastel background that I painted. The floral foam is colored with pastels. The trees are the only part of the set that I didn't make myself. I plan to also use this set for inspiration for my own pastel paintings.

The title “Floating World” refers to a style of Japanese woodblock prints known as ukiyo-e, or "pictures of the Floating World", from the Edo-period Japan (1600–1867). Japanese woodblock prints of colorful landscapes particularly inspire me.

The title also refers to this little imaginary set composed of “floating” islands. When photographed together they become greater than the sum of their parts. And the viewpoint of the observer seems to float above the scene at times.
