  2. Fiestas, floats, frolic, fun and foam!!! Yep! It's carnival time and the city of Aviles in Asturias throws one hell of a party.
The only rule to enjoying the Descent of Galiana is dress appropriately. Other then that, just go mad!!

English teacher John Parker (http://www.chat-english.com) explains what to expect at this pre-Christian festival and what makes it one of the top parties of Carnival season in Spain.

Many thanks to NH Palacio de Ferrera (http://www.nhhotels.com) for their support

  3. The Council and town of Grado are situated at the centre of Asturias and is well located being just 15 minutes from the city of Oviedo and less than 30 minutes from Asturias airport and also some very fine beaches.

  4. Developing your ski legs can be a costly affair especially for those who have never tried the activity before.
Asturias has two very well maintained ski stations that will accommodate your every need from equipment rental to excellent and friendly instructors and all at prices well below what you can normally pay at other national and European resorts (daily ski pass ranges from €18 to €23 euros!!)
The quality of the snow can vary from powder to Ice depending on the conditions but what's always guaranteed is a smile from the staff and a stunning choice of Après-ski locations down in the valleys

Many thanks to all those involved in the production of this video and who made it a pleasure to film

  5. Made internationally infamous by Hannibal Lecter's odd choice of diet in Silence of the Lambs, the Fabada bean casserole is the signature dish of Asturias and is enjoyed throughout all of Spain.
It is a rich hearty meal that is great for replenishing energy stocks after rigorous activities.
Ramon Huerta Nicholson introduces us to this classic dish and tells us what it takes to make the perfect Fabada Asturiana

Impeccable images. I think time-lapse is often used gratuitously, but with this it helps to show the great beauty of Asturias. Good stuff. Jonathan
