I sketched out every transformation detail first before any 3D work started.
The bridge environment is a virtual set based on photos I took of the Bloor Street Viaduct in Toronto.
I designed and directed the cinematic parts of this attract video for the game back in '07. (I was also the Senior Art Director on the game)
Some of the footage is prerendered CG, some in game captures on xbox 360.
The CG was done by various facilities in Los Angeles and Vancouver.
Motion Graphics was designed and executed by Monkbot in Toronto.
I directed this short CG film for the Canadian Pavillion at the Shanghai World's Fair 2010.
I was aiming for a "hand-made CG look" that took the audience on a short journey into the imagination of a young boy.
Inspiration included Henry Selick & Miyazaki.

The giant mechanical treadmill concept was fairly undefined when we first started, and had to go thru an intensive phase of concept design really quickly. I created all the concept art that the commercial was based on, including the mining-machine inspired treadmill, the high-tech hangar interior, as well as detailed story boards for all the mechanical transformations throughout the ad.
