Wine Australia’s second annual Nordic Tasting impressed Scandinavian palates when it showcased almost 250 wines from 31 wine regions last month.
The three-tiered event, held in the splendour of Stockholm’s 19th century Grand Hôtel, offered a private tasting to key monopoly buyers followed by a tasting for hotel, restaurant and catering (HoReCa) trade and press and then an evening tasting for consumers respectively.
The wines were flighted stylistically and for the first time offered a series of dedicated Wine Walks, enabling guests to choose their own path by region of interest or the new to market producers who were seeking distribution.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Australia Day Tasting - the biggest event for Australian Wine in the UK calendar. The event was held at London’s Lindley Hall on January 30, 2014 and showcased 80 tables of exhibitors. We also introduced Dine Australia, a new initiative to celebrate Australia's food and wine pairing, which was a delicious success.

Wine Australia has returned from Europe’s largest wine fair, ProWein, after hosting three days of business meetings, networking opportunities and trading ventures.
ProWein is considered one of the most important wine events on the world stage; this year attracting 48,000 visitors to the Messe Hall in Düsseldorf, Germany. In its 20th year, ProWein 2014 was joined by 4830 exhibitors from 47 countries who together supported a diverse programme of events and made it the biggest fair on record.
Wine Australia’s stand showcased 250 wines from 25 producers across nine regions in four states. This snapshot highlighted the variety within the category and enabled visitors to taste through regions as iconic as South Australia’s Barossa and McLaren Vale and as boutique as Victoria’s King Valley and New South Wales’ Tumbarumba. Many of these producers were seeking European distribution and were able to conduct business during the fair.
