From Bulgaria, the World Rookie Fest crossed the boarder for the Transilvania Rookie Fest that was taken place in Arena Platos-Sibiu-Romania on February 6th to 8th, 2015.

The 5th edition of the Transilvania Rookie Fest is the only international youth freestyle snowboard competition hold in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. Former ISF world champion Martin Freinademetz and owner of Arena Platos has build a slope style park in cooperation with Ninjaz Parkdesign and Romanian snowboard legend Andy Fazakas. The park has a length of 700 meters and includes 4 rails and 4 kickers.

Transilvania Rookie Fest is part of the TTR snowboard World Tour. The TTR events are ranked with a one to 6 star ranking system. The competitors at this contest will be able to score points for the TTR world ranking list, a list where almost 5.000 snowboarders are ranked worldwide. Although riders can qualify for the WSF world rooky final where only the winners of the previous rooky event sand the top 20 of the world rooky tour ranking will be allowed to compete.
“The World Rookie Fest Tour is growing year after year and we are super happy to have now 2 stops in East Europe. It’s a great opportunity for riders to grow and make the progression upgrading too. Let’s see who will qualify for the big final in Ischgl!!” stated Meinhard Trojer from World Rookie Tour Committee.
The event in Arena Platos was assign 2 all-inclusive tickets for the 4Star World Rookie Finals in Ischgl, Austria. In addition all riders on Rookie and Groom podiums, both boys and girls, were being qualified as well for the Protest World Rookie Finals.
Age Groups: Rookie (born from 1’st January 1997 and 31’st of December 1999) and Groom (born after 1’st January 2000).
Riders from Bulgaria, Germany, Austria and Chech Republic singed in along with the best romanians rookies and groms, to compete at the 5th edition of Transilvania Rookie Fest.
The contest format was: 3 runs, best run counted for the final ranking.
The level of riding was good, impressive spins, lots of back-flips and technical tricks on the jibs were performed by the competitors.
The Grom category was win by Kamen Petrov from Bulgaria, followed by Kaufmann Moritz and Gasperi Noah from Austria.
The Rookie category was lead and won by Rovenski Ian from Chech Republic, followed on second place by Slavov Konstantin from Bulgaria and on third place by Fisinski Kristian from Bulgaria.
The Rookie Girls first place had been won by the local girl Brad Ruxandra.
The good wibes and smiles on competitors faces were present on the whole contest day.
The internationals rookies and groms had great time interacting with the Romanian competitors, that progressed each year, creating a smooth general atmosphere.
