Ray Arvidson, deputy principal investigator on MER, the dual-rover Mars mission, talks about the Opportunity rover's tenth anniversary as a planetary explorer. It's a great story. The 10-year-old rover, dirty and arthritic, has just found evidence of conditions that would support the chemistry of life in the planet's past, work that has earned it a spot in the 24th Jan. issue of Science magazine.
