"Media industry professionals agree: The interiors of IKEA shopping centers are superbly lit and ideal for low (or next to NO) budget short movie productions. Clean interior scenes from any room common for a bourgeoisie flat are found within 10min walk from each other. Toilets, bedrooms, everything… Some display rooms have only 3 walls… In fact it is a movie set more then a shopping center. When filming a crew is left undisturbed as people are so used being around cameras. A shopping cart may easily be used in tracking shots. The different rooms are divided by laminate floors.. Which cause bumps when tracking but 1-5m strips of suitable floor may be found every here and there. A small dslr camera with good optics will blend in perfectly (Recommended 17mm min. f2.8) with the cameras arbitrary consumers have with them and IKEA staff is not really interested in what customers do. Also it’s legal (in Finland) to shoot video in public locations.. Which a shopping center is. The only issue is audio and the price tags which are present in every product.. But such can be fitted into the script.”

--

Good grief. It was seven years!

We begun this project in 2007 and we've collected a body of more then 429 separate live-art works shot on video.

My Dear, 429 works! That's a jackload of gigabytes! 5% of those are suitable for internet-audiences out of which we´ll share a selection here. The rest has importance for the people in whom's hoods we hosted our on-the-road project at and after meticulous post-production a selection may be presented in exhibitions.

We´ve executed shows in: An anonymous and clean gallery (Galleria Titanic, Turku), in a private home (Anti-Festival, Kuopio) with a deep personal attack into private space, a tavern in Brüssels (Les Halles, Trouble#5 Festival, Brüssels) by integrating into a community, we've knitted our-self's into the social fabric of the district of Kallio (URB09 Festival, Helsinki) and explored the virtual other in Second Life and Prague (Pirkanmaantaiteen keskustoimikunta Residency program, Prague), again with a urban interventions (Cultural Capital City 2010 Pécs - Europemania). We've performed at Shopping Centers like Ideapark, Ikea and Koskikeskus on hosted a presentation of these performances in a Hotel mid Tampere (Landing Points). Soon after we continued this theme by performing at the King of IKEAs in Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholm Fringe). The canvas just keeps on getting bigger!

We select a site, investigate it, perform pieces for live audiences, shoot them on video and present these in a multi-channel installation preferably within a days delay after their execution. We do the works in non-stop cycles. 12:00:00 for 50 performances, 12:58:36 for 54 and so forth. +14,4 each time we begin a project. In the year 2057 we´ll host a 24 hour long performance during which we´ll execute 100 separate live-artworks.

This is crazy right? Think again.

We tend to imagine that we are conducting ourselves as individuals, as opposed to constructed characters serving a narrative story but during these session the sites specific character resonates into our ordinary actions. Our performances visualize the ideological position spaces place us in. Thus we visualize the context we perform at. Pure poetry right? Cool, we just agreed that pissing in your pants is poetry.

This small glimpse to our universe only serves those interested in further exploration.

Here is a link roll to detailed descriptions (NOTE: Not all work).
