Your Heart & Your Belly & Your Whole Insides Felt Empty & Wanting & Hollow (Episode 2.) is the second installment of a performance trilogy depicting a dance-for-two between woman and void.

Episode 2 is both a stand alone film and live performance. Audiences can experience the performance from outside the mirrored room, by either watching it through the 1 inch gaps between the mirrors or through the live feed video projected on a wall outside the mirrored room. A woman wearing a steadicam strapped to her body, performs inside the circular mirrored room. The 360˚ room multiplies the performer’s reflection as well as reveals her to be entirely alone. Episode 2. is meant to confront the multiplicity of oneself as an act of intimacy with nothing. The void is represented through the lack of the other, creating a more psychological intervention than with Episode 1.

Yara Travieso is a Brooklyn-based writer, director, filmmaker, and choreographer creating large scale performances and films. A recipient of a Creative Capital award, The NALAC Grant via The Ford Foundation, Travieso is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the co-founder of the Borscht Film Festival. Her works have been presented with NYC’s Park Avenue Armory’s Drill Hall, Lincoln Center, SXSW, Film Society, Miami Film Festival, and commissioned by Hermes, Glamour, Elle, among others.
