I like to collaborate and create movement-based art. I also practice yoga.
My most frivolous hope is to really get the hang of the diablo sticks this year. My serious hope is to make time to keep dancing, as well as write some articles and poetry.
Here's my bio....
Christina Sears-Etter, MFA, is a performer, choreographer and educator with professional experience in many forms of dance, including modern, tap, jazz, improvisational performance and site-specific work. She is Artistic Director of People Dancing since 2000, and teaches in the community and in higher education. She earned a BA from University of Michigan, and later, after working in New York City and London, UK, obtained a MFA degree from SUNY College at Brockport. A current member of the Music and Dance Faculty at Eastern Michigan University, Christina has been a part-time faculty member at Wayne State University since 2011, she has taught practical and theoretical classes and also created a freshman performing experience. Ms. Sears-Etter has recently choreographed for: People Dancing, Eastern Michigan University’s Dance Company, The Factory Dance Co., Hillsdale College Dance Program, and for solo dance artists. Christina’s choreography was most recently presented at the Dance in the Mitten Festival. Her first media installation "Paradigm Shift" created on student dancers, and in collaboration with video editor Laura Zimmerman, was recently presented at the Women's Caucus for Art's show "Eye on the D" at the 555 Gallery in Detroit, MI.
