Create Common Good (CCG) was originally founded in 1999 to serve disadvantaged members of the international community—you may have known us as “The Momentum Group.” Our mission has always been to help those in dire economic situations by offering training, professional services and employment opportunities. We “teach them to fish,” providing benefits that last far beyond the acute needs of the moment. CCG conducted job training and micro-enterprise development in SE Asia before relocating the organization to Boise, Idaho in 2008. CCG’s efforts continue to center on creating economic independence.
Examples of our historical successes include co-founding NightLight, an organization that helps women leave prostitution and enter job training and employment. NightLight currently employs more than 80 women and has helped over 125 women gain safe employment since its inception in 2005. Visit nightlightinternational.com.
We also consulted and assisted an organization in a migrant slum community of Bangkok, Thailand to develop a sewing and language-skills training program. The trainees now create marketable goods for retail sale internationally.
In late 2008, The Momentum Group’s Boise operation became known as "Common Ground,” a job and language skills training program that included a farm training and employment site. We built experiential training courses and experiences that quickly became an organization. Today, we are earning income and operating with staff team members, doing business as Create Common Good…because that is what we do.
