I am a writer and director and have made over 80 hours of prime time television across all genres and dramatic programme types. I am very inventive and relentlessly creative with a strong desire to push boundaries and advance the form. A graduate in 1983 from The London International Film School, I worked initially as a runner and third assistant director on feature films such as ‘Aliens’ and ‘A Fish Called Wanda’. After optioning ‘The Book of Mini Sagas’, I turned producer and made six short films with various directors, which were sold to UIP and distributed theatrically. Soon after I became a Director myself and then spent four years writing, producing and directing corporate programmes, before making the ‘Euphoric Scale’, a short film that established me as a drama director and led to my first slot on mainstream TV drama in the shape of ‘The Bill’. Since then I have helmed nearly eighty hours of primetime drama and also children’s television and in 2006 the second series of ‘The Giblet Boys’ which I directed and contributed 2 episodes as writer, won the Best Drama Bafta. I am currently directing commercials and developing feature, theatre, television drama and factual projects.
