Dominic Mercurio is a San Francisco based filmmaker, talented video editor, and musician. His latest film, the 30-minute Nuclear Family, was screened in SF theaters in 2011.

Nuclear Family and Dominic’s earlier short, Frank’s Mug (Virgins and Rejects Film Festival 2009) celebrate the oddness of ordinary people. Using subtle humor and unflinching insight, Dominic aims to peel back layers of normalcy to unmask themes such as obsession, dysfunction and redemption.

He recently edited the short film Catch The Clock (NYCIFF Official Selection), the award-winning period piece Lockwood, and directed a commercial for the Yes on 19 campaign . He also combines his skills in directing, editing, and music-making in a series of projects including an award-winning music video for The Family of Man, an abstract microscopic music video for ElectroSonic Chamber, and an intimate performance video for Foxtails Brigade.

Outside of film, he plays percussion in several SF-based bands including Foxtails Brigade, Ghost Town Jenny, and ElectroSonic Chamber. The orchestral-experimental pop sounds of Foxtails Brigade can be heard anywhere from an unannounced street show in San Francisco to major city-wide music festivals like Noise Pop and SXSW.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dominic has a B.S. in Digital Film and Video Production from the Art Institute of California – San Francisco.
