David Stoddart is a writer/director from the west coast of Scotland. In 2004 he went to study at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth where in 2007 he was selected as one of the first Trailblazers, a nationwide scheme that recognizes key emerging talents in British film. His graduation film, ‘Waiting for Exit Music’, went on to premier at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Tribecca Film Festival in New York. In that time a short film he wrote, ‘Rock Bottom Riser’, went on to win an award at the LA Expo Film Festival. He has recently completed his masters in directing fiction at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) with his graduation film “Solstice”, a drama set in the highlands of Scotland that premiered at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California. Also in 2010 he was chosen as a ‘Star of Tomorrow’ by Screen International.
