Hashd0x & Proof of War Series

Hashd0x & Proof of War came about as a series of technical and tactical proposals at the intersection of human rights and the arts. Aimed to address common tactics of misinformation and propaganda at the core of ongoing warfare, this series is an urgent response to Russia’s brutal acts of war on Ukrainian soil. The premise is that the notion of trust has been significantly challenged by information technologies, at the core of today's progress and a new wave of industrialisation. In the world of post-truth accelerated by the internet logistics & Ai-driven synthetic knowledge production, i.e. prompt-based generation of visual content, to protect political, social and economic health within societies we need to have the tools that can compute truth.

The central work within the series Hashd0x is twofold. Firstly, it is a web3 protocol and open source software designed to combat common tactics of misinformation by enabling instant and spoof-proof registration of metadata and image hashing records on blockchains. It operates in a form of web platform, mobile apps, and a custom designed hardware camera capable of utilising professional optics. It is highly programmable and can be built into a drone. Secondly, the artwork – a blockchain-based memorial of building remnants in Bucha produced with Hashd0x software, photogrammetrically stitched from trackable on-chain data points, thus creating a monument by the massive quantity of data records likely to be forever imprinted into the blockchain. At the moment of writing, Hashd0x exists as a mobile app available on app stores, a Web dashboard for navigating and verifying the authenticity of uploaded material, a censorship-resistant decentralized storage module & smart contract on Ethereum. Hashd0x has been recently nominated for the Austrian Blockchain Award. There's an active team behind it as the project undergoes development.
