Justin Lutsky is an accomplished filmmaker, passionate about storytelling and the business of entertainment. He has a diverse background in narrative, commercial, music video and branded content creation, having worked effectively in the development, creative and production arenas of film, television and advertising for many years. His award-winning body of work has screened at over 100 festivals around the world winning more than 50 honors, has aired on national television and has attracted millions of views on YouTube and other digital platforms. An Orange County native, Lutsky graduated from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts summa cum laude in ’05 where he was mentored by acclaimed directors William Friedkin and Carl Franklin. In 2007, he was hand selected by Steven Spielberg as one of the top 20 filmmakers to take part in the new reality television show “On The Lot” airing on FOX. In 2009, he premiered “The Action Hero’s Guide to Saving Lives” at Paramount Studios, starring Patrick Warburton, and shortly thereafter found representation with managers at Heroes and Villains Entertainment and agents at APA.
More recently, Lutsky’s web-series “Armed Response” launched on Break Media’s new YouTube channel ‘HardCoded’. He worked with Quirk Books to create a series of online book trailers, including the hugely-popular “Night of the Living Trekkies”. He collaborated with acclaimed director Rob Cohen as an editor on several Coca-Cola commercial spots as well as a pilot for the Speed Channel and he served as 2nd unit director on the highly-anticipated web-series “Drone” produced by Justin Linn. Currently, Lutsky is in development on several feature length screenplays and high-concept television and digital series with plans to direct. His action/comedy “Bear’s Last Dance” is currently being developed into a starring vehicle for Patrick Warburton (Men In Black, Rules Of Engagement, Ted), and will soon go into production in 2015. He’s often described as having the artistic esthetic of a Michael Bay crossed with Peter Berg, but also a technical expertise in all aspects of production and post-production that is second to none.
