I love television and I love film. I love how with the right characters, sets, lighting and staging, almost any story can be brought to life and create utter magic. That is my passion and that is what I want to do with my life. I want to be apart of that magic, in way I can.
Over the past two yearsI have been building a career in the television/film production industry by combing my passion for creativity and my administrative/coordinating skills. I have put them to use as a skilled production and camera assistant, keeping ahead of the needs of my superiors and utterly enjoying the final product.
I realized that after spending eight years working for various nonprofits in the field of fundraising, that I was at my best when I was creating something, whether a new webpage, a new graphic, or a film. I devoted good amount of my time to learning computer programs that kept in line with the changing needs of the organization, such as Photoshop, Indesign, Dreamweaver, and Final Cut Pro.
I also discovered a talent for "supervising" my various supervisors. I found that with a mix of humor and acumen I was able to motivate my department and superiors, to prioritize the needs that were determined to be the most important and coordinate people and logistics to meet those needs. Being able to discern the urgent from the minor became one of the most significant parts of my job and one that I enjoyed.
