Pianist, composer and arranger Filipe Raposo was born in Lisbon. During piano studies in Lisbon National Conservatory and composition studies in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), he also attended individual courses of jazz and improvised music with the pianists like João Paulo Esteves da Silva, Jans Thomas, George Cables and Nicholas McNair among others.
The daily life of Filipe Raposo consists of various projects of various scales, which include composing, arranging and playing piano. He collaborates with the songwriters, who played important roles in Portuguese Revolution in 1974, José Mário Branco, Fausto, Sérgio Godinho and with performers of contemporary fado (Camané, Joana Amendoeira, Carminho).
The pianist also works with authors of contemporary vocal music (Amélia Muge) and traditional Portuguese music singers and interpreters (Janita Salomé, Vitorino). Furthermore, he accompanies silent movies in Portuguese Cinemateca in Lisbon.
On jazz scene, he appears as a soloist and performs with his Trio involving double bass players Yuri Daniel or Carlos Bica and drummers Carlos Miguel or Vicky.
