Filip was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He grew up in the center of the cinematography in the Balkans, where he was constantly influenced by family film tradition. From an early age, he showed love for film and music. He had an access to film magazines, cameras and film editing, and he was having much fun with it, still learning a lot of different things at the same time.
At the age of 18, he enrolled in a department of film and television cameras at the Academy of Arts, under the supervision of Professor Radoslav Vladic, where he studied fiction and documentary form. In 2009, he was awarded as the best student of the year in his department. At the Academy, he was studying a lot about history of film, directing, editing and photography. While still a student, he started working in the family company engaged in post-production and camera rental, where during the 2008 he was in charge for digital film cameras and their workflow. For many years, he has been constantly present in digital intermediate process which was done on national and international films, and he gained there valuable work experience.
He has worked as a director of photography, camera-operator, focus puller, digital imaging technician and colourist on many projects.
