Hi, We would like to purchase the Pro subscription but read in an old post that domains that host ads cannot use your services and also that if the content is promotional, no can do either. Is that accurate. Here is the post, boagworld.com/reviews/vimeo. We have several sites, but I've included a url to one of them.

Hi Sharon, the blog post that you refer to is from over four years ago, and the account type the blogger refers to is the 'Plus' subscription, which existed before Vimeo PRO.

Commercial content is allowed if you are a Vimeo PRO member, and you may embed your own videos however you want, including if you have ads on your page. The point that the blogger brings up regarding ads "before and after the video" is referring to pre-roll and post-roll ads (which are more ubiquitous on YouTube and other video services today than they were four years ago). Vimeo does not allow pre/post-roll ads or ad overlays in our player; this is only allowed by using a third-party player, which is only available to PRO members.

Basically that blog post is out-of-date and out-of-touch with our current policies. We're more than happy to help you out and answer all your questions! Of course, you can review our current Guidelines and Terms of Service here:
