Hi,

I recently noticed that all Vimeo videos started looking washed out (very light) when viewing them on Google Chrome. At first I thought it might be a Google Chrome issue but after doing a side-by-side it turns out it's not a Chrome problem.

The first comparison is a Vimeo video on Chrome vs. Explore: Screen Shot - videotrailreviews.com/Vimeo_Chrome_Vs_Explore
As you can see there is a huge difference between the two browsers. However, this test does not clearing determine if it's a Chrome issue or Vimeo issue so I did another side-by-side.

The second comparison is a Vimeo vs. YouTube on Chrome: Screen Shot - videotrailreviews.com/Vimeo_Vs_Youtube
This side-by-side clearly points to a problem viewing videos from Vimeo on Google Chrome.

I've been a Chrome user for about a year and have never experienced this issue before. Has Vimeo updated something recently that is causing this? Is anyone else having this same issue? - Manny

Hi Manny, that's really interesting. I also use Chrome and haven't personally noticed this nor have I heard this from anyone else. I'm going to look into it. Thanks for the heads up!

It appears to only look washed out when using the HTML5 player. Once I switch to the Adobe flash player it looks fine. This is an issues since my sites are all using HTML5.

This may just be limited to your computer - i'm not noticing an issue on mine. We'll try to run some tests and see if we come up with anything.
