Trading his ice-skates for a surfboard when he migrated from Sweden to Australia, Lars earned a diploma with honours in the Fine Arts and a Degree with distinctions in Visual Communication before 'cutting his teeth' with regards the 3D/VFX industry and then relocating to London, UK.

Lars is a well rounded senior creative with extensive experience and a broad skill-set (relative to the CGI/VFX industry and other fields) including 3D Animation, Visual Effects, Broadcast Design, Conceptual Design, Animation Direction, Creative Direction, Illustration, Graphic Design, Creative Writing, Copy-Writing, Banner & Poster Design, Photography & Photographic Montage.

Lars's main career focus and expertise are in 3D-CG/VFX, Direction, Design, Animation and senior generalist ‘hands-on’ ability.

Lars has nineteen years of industry experience, working in a variety of formats including film, commercials, promos, ident’s and special formats, such as show-scan IMAX ‘rides’.

During his years of professional experience he has undertaken challenging senior roles such as Head of 3D-CG, VFX Director, GG/VFX-Supervisor, Director, Senior/Lead-Animator and Senior 3D/VFX Generalist.

Lars has earned several distinctions and awards for his work and has been invited to participate in presentations, speeches and panels around the world, with work featured in several magazines and television programmes.

Lars's creative pursuits have not been limited to the film, television and VFX industries. He has earned distinctions in
a variety of artistic arenas; from lead-vocalist in a punk-rock band, involvement in a performance art group to multi-media
installations and collaborations with renowned artists.

Lars is currently working as Head Of 3D / VFX Director at a boutique VFX & Design facility called Locomotion. He has enjoyed many senior positions within companies of high repute such as The Moving Picture Company & Rushes and has enjoyed working in Australia, UK and Sweden.

With offices in London and Düsseldorf, Locomotion have a strong position in the European 3D/VFX market. Having a core of full time staff and roster of some of Europe’s most talented artists, Locomotion can crew up to fill fifty seats in relatively short notice. Lars is responsible for the cross-departmental CG/VFX supervision and management of all 3D, VFX and GFX related projects and productions.

Actively recruit for new talent ensuring a strong freelance roster of junior through to extremely senior specialist and generalist candidates to suit all 3D/VFX & GFX requirements.
Manage a staff of 3D, VFX & GFX artists (freelance and F/T).
Establish effective strategies to ensure the highest quality of work, delivering to client satisfaction under very tight deadlines. Ensure effective communication between senior management, producers, 3D, VFX & GFX personnel.
Supervise the 3D/VFX requirements for shoots. Create and manage effective CG/VFX Pipelines ongoing productions. Senior 3D/VFX Generalist & GFX Designer: January 2008 – February 2008.

Responsible for highly-skilled hands-on CG/VFX involvement and GFX conceptual design related work for a Jack the Ripper documentary. My responsibility was to design several graphic transitions from an outer space ‘satellite view’ of the globe into a streetscape level live-action shoot scenario (modern day setting) and then back in time to the appropriate era of the Jack The Ripper character. ;
