Born in the mid-west. She was raised primarily in Atlanta, Georgia where she attended neighborhood public schools. Lenard endured a difficult childhood, plagued with poverty, living in one of the most notorious housing projects with her mom and siblings. The story does not end there, through tenacity, hard work and talent she was able to rise above her circumstances.
Her career is marked by success. From 1992 to 2002, Brenda Lenard enjoyed a successful tenure as Chief Executive Officer of a mid-size construction company. She later took a permanent leave of absence after the death of her infant son, Daniel; to found Daniel's Dream for Children Awareness, Inc. A non-profit committed to eradicating Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Brenda Lenard has been deeply involved in community and civic affairs, serving in her church and numerous charities including Daniel's Dream For Children Awareness, Inc, the American SIDS Institute and Habitat for Humanity. She received her B.A., with High Honors, from Beulah Heights University. Shortly thereafter, she was awarded an MPA from Kennesaw State University and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.
Brenda Lenard is dedicated to the ideals of change in Washington. Lenard knows and understands the American traditions of hard work, community service, and strong values very well, because those are the same values she was born, raised, educated with.
Her Tennessee values and common-sense are a testament to the work she strives to accomplish such as the promotion of individual liberty, economic opportunity and a smaller federal government.
