My name is George Swar and I am a freelance film maker & photographer based in Orange County, California. Since 2001, I have provided photography services all over southern California.
I fell in love with photography at a small portrait studio in Myanmar (formerly Burma) where my father send me to work my first summer job in 1984. That love continued when moved to the United States in 1989 and I worked for a photographer who specialized in natural landscapes.
Although my educational background (I studied film and photography in college) and interest were in photography, I pursued a career in mechanical design drafting for 12 years. The work was good, but it was not what I really wanted to do. In 2006, I opened my own studio and have dedicated myself to being a full-time photographer (I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America) since then.
Note to prospective wedding clients: For three years, I served in the U.S Army and wanted to be a war correspondent/photojournalist like Steve McCurry. My contract ended during peace time and (luckily as it turned out) I never saw the war. Why do I tell you this? Because when I shoot a wedding, I use a photojournalist style. With so many things going on, I find this is the best way for me to shoot what I see without having to re-stage anything. I have become quite good at the photojournalist style and my wedding clients love it. Willing to travel if expense are paid for or can negotiate with the package.
For more information, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-949-285-7714. Travel (I've been to 17 countries so far) for wedding or an event is negotiable. I look forward to meeting with you soon.
