Growing up, Glen Matthews knew what he wanted to be: a professional wrestler. Once that dream dissipated and his passionate showmanship remained, he began to pursue a career as an actor instead.
Matthews spent seven years working solely as a professional actor between Halifax and Toronto, with roles in such feature films as HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN, THE CORRIDOR, & ROLLER TOWN to name a few. Collaborating with some of his region’s brightest filmmakers served as a catalyst to make films of his own.
In 2012, he wrote and directed ROOM SERVICE, which went on to win numerous festival awards and was a finalist for CBC Television's national competition, Short Film Face Off.
SAVING FACE is Glen's sophomore film, and brings together all of his passions, filmmaking, acting, and professional wrestling, into one project.
