We in Southern California know that the force of nature is a force to be reckoned with. I spent three days and two nights documenting the recent fires. The daytime footage was shot from Mullholland Drive across the San Fernando Valley and the night time footage was shot at the base of the burning mountains in La Crescenta. Rather than shoot time lapse, I shot at normal and sped it up in post. In my opinion, this doesn't have as much of a jittery quality. Watching the Pyro-Cumulus cloud rise up and then collapse upon itself (at 2:00 min.) is something one does not see with the human eye. Hope you enjoy this display of nature. We in Southern California live with both Beauty and the Beast.
