A preview of my pursuit on finding h̶a̶p̶p̶y̶n̶e̶s̶s̶ the Milky Way Galaxy in the UAE.
Finding the darkest place in the UAE is not an easy task, as some astronomers consider the city of Dubai as the most light polluted city on earth.
I had to drive 3.5 hours away from Dubai to south west of Abu Dhabi to find this Milky Way Galaxy, and even in this part of the country, a glowing light coming from an oilfield is pretty much visible.
This was shot with my Canon 7D with Canon 14mm lens and a borrowed 5D MarkII, which I noticed that the 7D footage is way too grainy on shooting the night sky. Good thing a friend lend me his Canon 5D MarkII and the result was spectacular. I also use the Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly http://www.dynamicperception.com and a few LED lights.
Now this quest will have to wait till I save up, get more paid work and get a new camera.
Thanks to vimeo.com/yasushazush for the Canon 5D MarkII and my pal Kuya Dudick for keeping me company in this remote areas.
Thank you for watching!
