3 hour performance
Sanatorium Gallery, Istanbul

24th August 2013
concept and performance: Jasmin Schaitl
Through repetition, simplicity and time, the being is put into a space for itself.
The performance consists of minimal slow movements, by unrolling a red carpet, and sewing around the foot after each slow step. People passing by, are allowed to step over the carpet. By contrasting slowmotion and daily life pace, the performancematerial generates sound by people passing the carpet, and emptiness by repetitive movements of the performer. The red carpet might be seen as a symbol of a society which is stuck in polarity as well as time rush.
