I decided to document my 149.2 mile, 10+ hour ride on 21 December 2011 from Austin to Houston using my GoPro HERO2's timelapse capabilities. I shot the ride from 9 different angels and cut it to Camille Saint-Saens' "Danse Macabre," which was produced by Kevin MacLeod. (Download the song here: freemusicarchive.org/music/Kevin_MacLeod/Classical_Sampler/Danse_Macabre). In retrospect, I think I'll only use camera angles mounted directly on the bike for timelapse shots. My favorite is probably the reverse angle from the side of the handlebars.
Philip Bloom's short timelapse film documenting his 500+ mile trip from Vegas to NM was the original inspiration for this video. vimeo.com/31591408 Shooting from a bicycle of course has different challenges, but this is my attempt nonetheless. Quoting Philip, shoot with what you've got!
