Day in the life of Foodbank Geraldton.
Music by: Abe Sada- "The City"
Produced by: Angus Davidson
Additional filming: Chris Lewis
We used a mixture of different shooting techniques techniques such as; timelapse, stop motion and normal video to create this day in the life video.
I had Chris Lewis from ABC helping me to make it.
He was there at 6:30am to prepare for the timelapses.
I came later and I filmed most of the interviews, different angles and got to speak on the local radio.
The next day I edited the footage, the process of editing can be more simple than you think.
First pick out the most important pieces of the footage and make a rough timeline of what will happen as the video progresses.
We had several hours of footage and I had to go through and pick out the "gold" parts of the footage to make this quick, unedited "draft".
Secondly is slowly finding different visual footage to overlay the speaking parts. This will be easier if you have laid out the audio first.
Then lastly refine your work. This was the bulk of my editing time. This takes time so take a few breaks and get it all perfect.
Making a video won't be as easy as clicking your fingers, but taking time and pride in your work, and you will get great results!
Foodbank has been a real eye-opener for me as the time and effort that goes into helping the community.
Foodbank does an amazing job at what they do and I have had a lot of fun making this day in the life about them.
