Dance and Live Performance

In 2012, I travelled to Lagos, Nigeria to shoot a music video. The experience was life changing. I met Bicycle, a young kid with a dream to dance his way out of poverty. He had lost his parents and was living on the streets, but had the most optimistic view of life I have ever seen. I had a chance to film just a snippet of his passion for dance and he introduced me to a whole new way of movement. I made this short video for him to show the world a glimpse of something different, to try and change peoples perception of Nigeria, to try and change a real persons life. A talent with an unfathomable passion for life, looking for an opportunity to make it out.

I want to start a Kickstarter to raise some money to go back to Nigeria and shoot a documentary about finding Bicycle. The documentary will involve finding him, exploring Lagos, experiencing a glimpse into the underground youth culture, dance scenes, telling his passionate story and his ambitions for dance.

The proceeds of the documentary film will pay for his trip to the UK for an audition with a professional dance company and an opportunity to change a young boys life.
