Visuals created for the poetic drama Golden Fables 2012, a multidisciplinary music and spoken word performance commissioned as Lincolnshires contribution to the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Electric Egg were approached initially to create a documentary about the creative process of creating this mass collaboration work that featured internationally reknowned poets, composers and musicians responding to the myths and landscape of the county of Lincolnshire. We were soon also tasked with job of creating a visual backdrop for the onstage performance of which "A Song for Lincolnshire" is but one section of.

"A Song for Lincolnshire" was the National Poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke's contribution and the project, a poem that traversed the history, landscape and flora and fauna of the county that was set to music by composer Tim Dalling. The video you see here is the visuals created for the performance accompanied by the track composer Tim Dalling recorded for the choir who were going to sing Gillian's words in the performance, Choir Invisible: The Desmond and Leah Tutu Peach Choir.

The visuals are an amalgam of old maps of the county, mixed with the beautiful specially commissioned illustrations created by illustrator and friend of Egg's, Hugh Cowling.
