"Acceleration Curve" was shot on Sunday, March 10th, 2013 at around 4:03 p.m. at the Emeryville Amtrak Station. This is along the same lines as another piece I did for Blake Whitman's "1 Minute: a Vimeo Project" back in December of 2012 (vimeo.com/55299896). However, this one is a bit twisted as the lines bend a bit in the upper middle and to the right. I consulted with an expert optics Phd from MIT who described this as likely refraction from the heat waves rising from the ground compounded by the compression of the telephoto lens as opposed to a sensor issue.
This shot was specifically composed to meet Blake's criteria:
-Video must be exactly one minute long
-No camera movement (no panning, tilting, etc)
-No editing whatsoever
-Use original sound
-Tag with '1 minute'
camera: Sony HDR-CX500v
