Back in May, I went to Hong Kong for work. In the off hours and days, I got to see a little bit of this wonderful place. I definitely want to go back.
Shot all handheld (obviously) with a GH1 before any hacking. Lenses were probably only the 14-140 and a Nikon 50/1.4.
Edit in Premiere Pro CS5 with MB Looks.

First part is taking the escalators up to the mid-level. Then walking around the zoo and connected park. Then Kowloon Walled City Park. The temple and large gate is at Wong Tai Sin. Then its a tram ride through Central. We ride on a bus then the subway. A nice long pan across the waterfront from the Kowloon side, then a look at the ferry terminal on the other side.
The ferry boat ride is a collection of different directions over the course of the few days. For dinner, we took the entire class to a restaurant in Star House and I make my second appearance in the video (the first was on the escalators). There there are shots from a few other restaurants around Kowloon. Then its a crazy taxi ride from the mid-levels down to Central.
Next we take the hour long ferry to Macau and wander with a guide the the pouring streets. At the end of the Macau jaunt, we take the free casino shuttle back to the ferry and return to Kowloon. Then its on to walk the streets of Mong Kok.
At night we watch the busses pass the crosswalk to my hotel, the Sheraton Hong Kong Towers. And some shots from the park and some restaurants near the hotel on my first night in town. There are a couple shots from that first night looking out onto the water towards the convention center. I end up on top of Victoria Peak, very thankful that it wasn't pouring with rain that night.
It was an amazing trip I look forward to repeating soon.
