A transit of Venus is when the planet passes in front of the sun, like a mini eclipse. This only happens in pairs of years in between a hundred years or so. The most significant for me is Captain Cook sighting the Transit of Venus in the 1770s before claiming Australia.
Despite my large amount of preparation, I was unable to view the 6th June 2012 Transit of Venus . :(
Instead, I decided to create my own. Based on stuff inside my head and books.
See you in a hundred years!
