Ballet Mechanique II (2012) is an Experimental Fashion Film crafted in response to Fernand Leger’s Experimental Silent Film, Ballet Mechanique (1924).
Escaping from the box of traditionalism, these ballerinas convey the 21st Century's eccentric cultural transformation in music, dance, and fashion as a result of human integration with technological mechanisms. Akin to Leger's film, continuous motion, repetition, and visual illusions are embraced, yet literal images of spinning mechanisms are replaced with spinning dancers.
