I shot this video over a few days, in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Western North Dakota, with my Canon Vixia HFS11. I also used a Manfrotto Modo 785b tripod. The lightweight mobility of the gear was great while hiking, I carried it the entire time... (maybe to lightweight in high winds though, I had some jitters while tighly zoomed during gusts). Having Solid State Memory in the camera was really slick, I could screw around without wasting tape. I learned alot..and by the end of my trip was getting everything pretty dialed in.
I ended up with over 14 hours of footage (about 2 hours of good stuff). I figured I would throw this little piece together as I was logging it. I edited in Adobe Premiere CS4. AVCHD is hard to edit with so I ended up converting it all to DVCProHD. The music is by Loreena McKennitt.
It really sucks being back in town.
