The Foce Spring is in Trevi nel Lazio, near Frosinone, within the Simbruini mountains. This area is very important from a karst point of view as it counts about 134 caves.

The cave is not very popular amongst divers, as the water levels make it accessible only for a brief part of the year that goes from May to June, and a few rare occasions in winter. The entrance to the cave is complicated as it's on the bottom of a canyon. Therefore the use of mules to carry the equipment.

The cave can be divided into two sections, the first is about 350m (1200 ft) long with an average depth of 5 m (16 ft). It is the part of the cave that is emerged throughout the year and this is why it is rich of speleothems. The second part is the deepest end that is flooded all year round. It's a large white vault in contrasts with the first darker clayey part.
