Solo ski and foot traverse from Turpin to 9 Mile.
Day 1 was 3.5 hours up the North Buff Fork. Nice camp at 8k, rain overnight.
Day 2 went over Two Ocean Pass and on a few miles north of Thorofare Creek. The pass and all of Atlantic Creek had horrendous soft snow, with average ski speeds well under 2 mph. On skis continuously until just before the bridge over the Yellowstone River.
Day 3 had a bit of skiing and lots of postholing, as well as gorgeous crusing along the river and lake. Ended at a tremendous lakeside camp.
Day 4 was a short six miles out and a hitchhiking adventure back to Missoula. I played tour guide in the Geyser Basins for four guys driving an RV from Miami to Anchourage, and got a ride from Fishing Bridge home in exchange.
