Best viewed in full screen with scaling off! I never knew you could see the Milky Way so high up from Finland, I was wrong. Photographing the night sky in Finland can be quite a challenge. In the summer the Sun barely goes down, and come winter, the skies are seldom clear. Luckily Finland is relatively free from light pollution, so getting away from the city lights, and finding a dark empty forest isn't too hard. These are my first Milky Way shots and getting the right composition proved to be a challenge, because of all the trees and the size of our galaxy. The trees were necessary though as they added a good sense of scale and perspective.
