Christopher Fernandez began his artistic career as a painter and draftsman. Having found the medium of painting too elitist and restrictive he discovered that he could reach a wider audience with narrative film. In 2002 he received his undergraduate degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and went to work gaining his production knowledge by working in Washington D.C.’s local film/television industry.
He earned his way into I.A.T.S.E. local 487, but was not content to play a support role on other people’s films. In 2008 Chris decided to further his artistic growth in the graduate program at Chapman University’s Dodge College. His award winning cycle film, Andre, has screened at festivals across the country and internationally.
