CU School of Theology

The last two of the four "prison letters," Philippians and Philemon. Philippians has the twin themes of joy and suffering. Paul holds up the examples of himself, of Jesus, of Timothy, and of Epaphroditus as those who lived out/are living out lives of suffering and joy. Philemon is encouraged by Paul to receive back his runaway slave Onesimus, especially in light of the fact that Onesimus is now a believer in Christ.
