This new work draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and in particular, the
spiritual journey of the play’s central characters Vladimir and Estragon. Rather than making direct
references to the play’s text, Marso and Salah will utilise their own responses, thoughts and feelings
cast from watching the original staged version of the play by using this as a departure point to create
movement and shape the work. In a sense, by re-visiting the play’s themes in this way, Marso
and Salah are continuing Vladimir’s and Estragon’s repetitive and recursive cycles and responding
physically to the ideas presented by the play around waiting, nothingness and time.
