In this video press release, Assembly Majority Leader Louis D. Greenwald (D-Camden) discusses his legislation to reduce the maximum capacity of gun magazines sold in New Jersey to 10 rounds of ammunition.
Under current law, magazines capable of holding a maximum of 15 rounds of ammunition are legal in New Jersey. Greenwald's legislation (A-1329) would reduce the legal maximum capacity of ammunition magazines sold in the state to 10 rounds. This limit would bring state law in line with the magazine limits contained in the original 1994 federal assault weapons ban.
It passed the Assembly by a vote of 46-29.
