The City of San Diego, Park and Recreation Department, Open Space Division manages over 25,000 acres of open space, including open space parks, and canyons. Preservation of Open Space has been a major goal of the City for many years. Open Space provides the citizens of San Diego with such benefits as scenic vistas, preservation of natural resources, outdoor recreation, and other benefits to health and well being. San Diego’s Canyons contain natural and cultural history unique to our region. For many communities these canyons are all that remain as undeveloped natural landscape. Through partnerships and cooperation with community and environmental groups and City Departments we strive to preserve and protect these lands for future generation.

Our Thanks to: San Diego Canyonlands, Alpha Project, Urban Corps ,Ocean Discovery Institute, Project Clean, I Love A Clean San Diego, SD Police, SDG&E, MWWD, Eagle Scouts , and San Diego Children and Nature Collaborative.
A special thanks to the greatest resource of all; community volunteers like you.
