In 2012 young teachers in training travelled to San Francisco as a part of the LEAP and Teach With Africa teaching exchange program. While sharing the culture and history of South Africa with US schools and education audiences, the LEAP Future Leaders Group recorded this adapted version of Thabo Mbeki's famous speech to South Africa and the Continent now famously called I AM AN AFRICAN. Lauded by many as one of the most important speeches of the century, this spoken word video version is full of heartfelt pride and strong personal connection. Listen to the voices of 14 young rising South African education stars. Produced by Karen Kirsch Page and recorded exclusively on a Canon 5D MKII.
