ShadowSampler is a data aggregation & visualisation software prototype for exploring geo located information. It functions as a platform for integrating large sets of geo located data from various sources onto a single interface for comparison and cross referencing.
This video demonstrates early concept functions such as loading different data sets into separate layers allowing the user to access each point and retrieve relevant information as graphical overlay. A call back list remembers every data point examined serving as record for tracing exploration trajectory.
The software is currently in being debugged facing complications resulting from data binning and concurrent thread processes. Future plans include automatic analytical tools such as similarity clustering and computer vision tools that may augment the study of data generated in urban context.
This software is part of the "New Paradigms in Urban Data Visualisation" research project at Research x Design, Dept of Architecture, KU Leuven, Belgium.
